Part of teaching art is engaging children and growing their social skills. Make Art and Be Social!

I remember taking art classes after school. The teacher never introduced the kids. It was hard to meet anyone. You made art and left. I completely disagree with this approach and would never teach any art class this way. Art making creates an atmosphere where children should be social, engage, learn from each other, smile and have fun.

I found a great article about how empathy teaching is an important aspect in teaching children. Well worth the read....
