How do you get your children to grow in art? Buy them an inexpensive art journal where they can sketch. I would recommend a bigger journal that has no lines and is 8.5"x 11" so your child can explore and create with less limitation on paper size. Children can capture their ideas and inspiration in one place. Date the journal and keep the journals as inspiration!

What does your child put in an art journal? Art lists of sayings, ideas, songs that inspire them, and moments they want to turn into art. When they see a great photo inspiration glue it in their. Practice drawing things that are hard and relax drawing things that are easy. Look around the artist and draw from their surroundings.

Where do you find your best bang for your buck journal? To date, I would say Michael's Art and Crafts (don't forget your coupon) or Blick Art Store during a major sal

e or Ocean State Job Lot (paper quality not great but that's okay).

To have good practice as an artist - you must have an art journal!
